How To Find Out What Theme A WordPress Website Is Using
I’ve went on many websites before and said “hey cool looking site”, then tested to see if it was a WordPress website by appending /wp-admin to the home URL or using inspect element to check the path of the scripts which the website is loading.
Most WP site owners keep the WordPress directory structure default so it’s easy to tell when a website is ran off WordPress.
To find out what theme the site uses there are two main ways.
This is the quickest and most reliable method. View the page source (right click anywhere on website –>Inspect element—>scroll up to top) and search the <head> section of the code to identify the theme the site is using.
From the image you could see that it shows I am using a child theme of MesoColumn theme. That means the theme I am using is MesoColumn.
Use a sniffing website to find out the theme. If these websites have trouble finding out what theme a site is using then it usually means that the site has a custom theme developed for it.
Do you have or know of a website that does this also? Great! Let me know in the comments.
